Write down the 3 most significant relational networks in your life where non-Christians are present (e.g. classes, school friends, family, work, etc.).
Now consider the 5 most frequent non-Christian people you meet in those networks and write their names down.
Some people will be more or less connected with non-Christians. That’s okay. You start where you are. If you are connected with many, you’ll need to choose strategically. It’s okay to write down more than 5 names. You could have as many as 10. If you’re struggling to think of 5, you might have a bit of work to do connecting more intentionally with the non-Christians around you. Be thinking about it consciously as you go about your days. Ask yourself, “Am I taking/creating opportunities to talk with/meet the non-Christians around me today?” Or perhaps you need to put yourself in new situations where you’re likely to meet non-Christians.
Also consider that you may be well connected with nominal Christians, or those who seemed genuine in their faith but now appear to be straying from Christ. You are welcome to include these in your list if that’s who God is putting on your heart.
For the purpose of this season while we do these studies together, try to choose people you are at least frequently in contact with. The people on your list should ideally be accessible for you over the next 4 weeks.
