Taking action with what we notice makes a big difference in the way people experience us as Christians. Here’s a real example of this in practice.
“A bit of a change in attitude” is exactly what noticing people and connecting with them can bring about. We’ll find people are naturally more open to us which will lead to increased opportunities for spiritual conversations.
Noticing and connecting will happen naturally if you allow it to as you go about your day to day. But let’s get on the front foot with the people we are intentionally praying for.
Get your list of people out again. In light of the thinking you just did before about them…
Write these down so you don’t forget.
At a local clubs promotional event, one of our members noticed the table beside us had no gazebo. The people manning the stall were standing in the hot sun. He asked them if they would like to use a second one that we were not using, and even went and got it for them. In the end they said no and that was that. Later that day however, another person from our group posted this up on the Facebook page:
“My brother and his friends were at [another club] stall nearby today. He just came home and told me that some “really nice guy” [from our club] offered to lend them a gazebo. He doesn’t remember who it was but thanks a lot! Normally he’s a bit sarcastic/critical whenever I talk about [my group] so it’s nice to see a bit of a change in attitude.”
