Another great way to up the spiritual climate in our conversations is to ask if we could pray for them. We’ve already been praying for our friends without them knowing it over the past couple of weeks. In the context of asking great questions, one of your friends may share something they are struggling with. This is the perfect opportunity to pray for them in person. Simply ask, “Is it okay if I pray for you about what you’ve shared?”
It also could be appropriate for us to pray with them on the back of talking about spiritual things. Be sensitive to the person when we ask them about this, and keep your prayers simple if they allow you to do this. Ask Jesus to work in their lives. Try to stay away from overly Christian language. But ultimately, when we pray with the lost people around us, we give God a chance to do something special.
