A Real Life Story

Angela and Rochelle had spent their whole uni studies in each other’s classes. Rochelle knew that Angela was a Christian. Angela had been quite involved with Student Life, but they had never really talked much about Christianity.

Now that they were in their final semester of uni, Angela thought it was about time she took the initiative to share her faith with her good friend.

So one night, she rang Rochelle and put it to her like this. “We’ve been good friends for a while now, and I know that you know I’m a Christian. My faith is really important to me, and I’d love the chance to share with you why it’s so important. Would you let me shout you a coffee tomorrow so I can explain why it’s so important to me?”

Well, Rochelle agreed to it. At about 10am the next day, they met at one of the cafes at uni. Angela was able to share the gospel with Rochelle that day, and come the end of their time, Rochelle accepted Christ into her life.

What Angela did took faith. It’s not easy to take a step like that, but she did. How many of our friends might be just like Rochelle, and all we need to do is invite them for a coffee?

  • How do you feel about initiating with your friends like Angela did?
  • If they gave you the chance to share the gospel with them, what might you say?
