Get out your list of 5 people and pray for them each by name with your prayer buddy.
Next, you are going to take turns with your prayer buddy calling or messaging the people on your list. You’ll invite them to catch up with you so you can share with them why you are a Christian and why it’s so important to you.
This is going to take bold faith on your part. You will likely be quite nervous about this. But remember, all you are doing is giving them an opportunity.
The world is not ending, and no one is going to die! They might say no and that’s really as bad as it will get. If they do, it’s no problem. But imagine if they say yes! You’ll have the opportunity to share the most important thing in the world with someone you love.
Asking them for coffee as Angela did is an ideal option. But you know your friendships best. Feel free to invite them to what you believe is the most natural opportunity. Below are some suggested scripts for people you might consider using.
“Hey, how are things???
I wanted to give you a call and ask you to consider something out of the ordinary.
You probably know that I’m a Christian. I haven’t really ever chatted with you about that.
It’s a significant part of who I am, and I’d love a chance to share with you what that means, and why I think it’s so important.
Would you be willing to meet me for coffee sometime so I could chat to you about it?”
“Hey, how are things???
Lately, we’ve been having the odd chat about the deeper things of life.
I’d really love the chance to catch up sometime and share with you why I’m a Christian and why I think it’s so important.
Would you let me shout you a coffee and we could talk about it?”
We hope this series has helped encourage you towards sharing your faith as God brings you into the lives of others. May you get to experience the great joy of seeing a loved one come to know Jesus.
