A Story of Grace

According to Jesus, God’s acceptance of us is based on his generous grace. It’s the whole reason why we can have a relationship with him now.

Here’s a famous story Jesus used to show people about God’s grace.

Read Luke 15:11-32 together.

• Who do the three main characters in this story represent, and what do they teach us about God and who we are?

• How does the father describe his son before he comes home, and after he returns (verse 24, 32)?

• God accepts us just as this father accepts his son. How does that make you feel?

 

To show someone grace is to treat them well when they don’t deserve it. Simply put, grace is an undeserved gift. Many of us struggle with this because we think it’s not fair. Yet this is how God reveals himself to us.
